Paths and trends in contemporary translation research

 

 

 

In view of the 14/2022-2023 issue of the journal «Translationes», focused on Pathways and trends in contemporary translation research, the editorial staff invites interested researchers to collaborate by sending their publication proposals to isttrarom.translationes@gmail.com.

This issue aims to explore themes and problems of contemporary translation research through an analytical and comparative approach and with particular attention to three main directions: 1) the relationship between tradition and innovation in the historical-epistemological and critical-editorial processes of the discipline; 2) the relationship between intraduction, i.e. «l'importation littéraire sous forme de traduction» of an author or a work, and what is defined as extraduction, i.e. exporting in the form of translation; 1 3) the connections between translation studies and other humanities and scientific disciplines, including assistance to the translation process through technology (from machine translation to online services such as Text United, Systran, Trados Studio, MemoQ, ForeignDesk, Translized, DeepL, Google Translator, Reverso.). Due to their interdisciplinary character, translation studies use research tools from various fields of study, including linguistics, philology, semantics, lexicology, literature, history, philosophy, semiotics, psychology, sociology and computer science. 

Against this broad background of thematic areas, the journal welcomes translation contributions, reviews, interviews and translations of literary texts for the following sections: https://translationes.uvt.ro/rt/ro/index.html 

The languages ​​of the contributions are the following: French, English, Italian, Spanish, German, with abstract in English.

30 May 2023: Deadline for sending the proposal (title of the study/article and the section of the journal to which it is intended) to the following address: isttrarom.translationes@gmail.com.

30 July 2023: First deadline for sending the works in electronic format to the following address: isttrarom.translationes@gmail.com.

30 September 2023: Deadline for sending the works in electronic format to the email address above.isttrarom.translationes@gmail.com.

1-29 October 2023: Double-blind review by researchers chosen from among the members of the scientific board and the editorial team of the journal or from among other scientific personalities.

30 October 2023:  The authors will be informed on the acceptance/ non-acceptance of their articles.

15 November 2023: Deadline for sending the final version of the articles, in accordance with the comments of the speakers and the editorial rules of the journal.
